人因梦想而伟大

One day, I want to have a little workplace cafe of our own. The cafe is designed by him – clean, cosy, sustainable with simple charm and character. We will serve wicked desserts that no one can turn down, and the aroma of coffee beans will fill the air all day long. Books and magazines will be sprawled all over the cafe; while my pictures that best reflect my emotions and perspectives will adorn the walls. An abundance of natural sunlight will play shadows on the walls, while chorus of laughter can be heard periodically coming from the students and the young working class clustered in their own groups. A lone traveller might sit alone, writing in his diary with a pensive look on his face while he sips a cup of tea, brewed from tea leaves grown sustainably in the local mountains. I will use my desktop publishing skills to create a simple menu, off-white with flowy words printed on recycled paper. Only the last page will give a hint that this workplace cafe provides more than food and beverages. A creative team sits upstairs churning out designs furiously. He will probably lead his co-workers in designing the modern site, specialising in sustainable designs – designs that are earth-friendly and last more than a lifetime. I might start my own publishing service, helming words and pictures into one entity, focusing on the uniqueness of the region. We are not making vast profits nor generating one-million dollar turnover per annum, just enough to pay everyone and keep the roof over our heads, frequent road trips and an occasional overseas trip. At the end of the day, we are satisfied and happy, glad that we are able to eke an existence and follow our dreams.

Dream on …
